How to Implement Effective, Efficient, and Engaging Classroom Word Study
Instructors: Elizabeth Sorby and Sandra Schwarz
Designed for those who are providing literacy instruction to students in kindergarten through second grade, this course is designed to support teachers who are using one of the Word-Wires Curriculum sets to teach the word study component of literacy.
The goal of the course is to:
- Empower teachers to implement Word-Wires to meet the needs of their students
- Provide an overview of the Word-Wires approach
- Answer implementation questions and provide interactive support
- Share tips to maximize integration of Word-Wires with other reading and writing programs
- Provide opportunities to practice lesson delivery
Registration
Participants must own their own individual Foundation, Level One, or Level Two Word-Wires Curriculum Set.
We highly recommend participants take the Wired for Reading Introductory Course before taking this class but it is not required.
Optional: 8 Washington State clock hours.
Word-Wires Implementation Workshop
Location: Online May 16 and in person May 17
Instructors: Elizabeth Sorby and Sandra Schwarz
- Dates: May 16 and 17, 2025.
- Format: 2 hours live online instruction and 6 hours in person instruction
- Location: Day 1 online via Zoom and Day 2 in person at St. Monica Catholic School
- Hours: Friday 4:30pm-6:30pm and Saturday 9:00am-3:30pm
- Tuition: $400.00
- Late Fee: $50 will be assessed if tuition received after the deadline
- Materials: Participants must have a Foundation, Level One, or Level Two Word-Wires curriculum set for this course.
