WORD-WIRES IMPLEMENTATION WORKSHOP

HOW TO IMPLEMENT EFFECTIVE, EFFICIENT, AND ENGAGING CLASSROOM WORD STUDY

Instructors: Jennie Bloch Garcia & Shannon Sanders

Designed for those who are providing literacy instruction to students in kindergarten through second grade, this course is designed to support teachers who are using one of the Word-Wires Curriculum sets to teach the word study component of literacy. The goal of the course is to:

  • Empower teachers to implement Word-Wires to meet the needs of their students
  • Provide an overview of the Word-Wires approach
  • Answer implementation questions and provide interactive support
  • Share tips to maximize integration of Word-Wires with other reading and writing programs
  • Provide opportunities to practice lesson delivery

REGISTRATION

Participants MUST own one of the three Word-Wires Curriculum Sets.
If you do not currently have a set, you may purchase one during the registration process.

Word-Wires Implementation Workshop

  • Dates: August 15-16, 2019
  • Time:  Thursday and Friday 9:00am – 3:00pm
  • Location: Bertschi School, 2227 Tenth Avenue East, Seattle, WA 98102
  • Tuition: $195 (Early Bird- before August 8, 2019)
    *Includes materials
  • Deposit: $50 Reserves place (Non refundable after deadline.)
  • Late Fee: $20 will be assessed if tuition received after the deadline
  • Alum: $40
  • Registration Deadline: August 8, 2019
  • 1 Credit or 10 Clock Hours offered through Seattle University
